Donald Trump has been elected to do one job by swing state voters who have decided to make a small decision to vote in 2024. Trump was not elected to deport immigrants or force Elon Musk to destroy the federal government. Trump was elected to reduce inflation and costs.
Trump argued that simply electing him would reduce inflation and costs. Voters with low information, and frankly, voters who had adjusted for elections and were looking for a simple answer, as they were angry at inflation and high prices, believed in him.
The president and his party have sought to argue that since the election, Trump has had a mandate to all of his unpopular policies.
Donald Trump was elected to do one thing. If he did that one thing, his presidency could be considered successful by the same voters who sent him back to the White House, even all lawlessness and corruption.
Instead, Trump is the most incompetent president in history, so he does the opposite, which results in a disaster for the Republicans and the nation.
By October 2024, Joe Biden had cut inflation to its lowest level since 2021, but grocery prices were high, with overall prices rising 21% since January. Voters were angry and they wanted change.
Those who voted for Trump are making a difference, but that’s not what they expected.
