Japan’s Nayainouye celebrates her victory over South Korea’s Kim Ae-Jung in the world’s Super Bantamweight Title Boxing Match held in Tokyo on January 24, 2025.
The promoter’s top ranks said Thursday that Japan’s undefeated Naoya Inoue will be fighting for the first time in Las Vegas in four years, winning the US Ramon Cardenas in May.
The 31-year-old “Monster” defends the indisputable super bantamweight world title in his first fight since 2021.
Inouye’s final match was the fourth knockout of South Korean Kim Ae-jung, held in Tokyo in January. The Japanese fighter jets scored a record 29-0 with 26 KOs.

The 29-year-old Cardenas had a 26-1 record and scored 14 with KO.
His latest fight was a victory in a unanimous decision last month over Mexico’s Brian Acosta.
Inouye has played eighth rounds in Japan since his last overseas match. This defeated Michael Das Marinas of Las Vegas in June 2021.

He is also expected to compete in Saudi Arabia later this year after signing a sponsorship deal with the Riyadh season.
Inoue said he was mentally “weary” after defeating Kim in a battle that had to be reorganized twice.
Inoue was originally scheduled to face Sam Goodman in December, but the fight was postponed when the Australian suffered a cut above his eyes in training.
Goodman then reopened the cut and was forced to withdraw, and Kim became a parachute as a last-minute replacement.
