As another session of Congress draws to a close, Americans have witnessed the departure of two members of what was once known as the progressive “Squad.”
Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) and Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) gave their usual farewell speeches filled with progressive rhetoric. They were greeted with little fanfare.
Bowman and Bush spoke to a nearly empty chamber. In fact, the two were accompanied in the video by fellow Squad Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA). state). Mr. Bowman will be joined by his wife.
The irony of their farewell speeches, in which they continued to demand reparations, condemn Israel, and echo the sentiments of the fringe within the party, is not lost on those who followed their careers.
They were shouting empty rhetoric into an empty room. Let me briefly explain their careers as legislators.

Jamal Bowman and Cori Bush say farewell with speeches
Jamal Bowman and Cori Bush gave speeches that had no basis in reality. But then what did you expect?
“Our squad was never small and we were never silent,” she told a small crowd in a very quiet room. “We have changed the course of history.”
She went on to tell her fellow Squadlings: “Each of you has made history and made a difference in your own right. And you have made a difference in my life.”
Mr. Bush lost in the primary to St. Louis Attorney Wesley Bell. Bell also won the seat in November.
Bowman also lost and was exiled. his The reserve senator warned that “there will be a lot more to come” from him in the future.
“We will liberate Palestine, we will liberate the Bronx, we will liberate all marginalized people,” he declared.

they will be lonely
Cori Bush and Jamal Bowman will be sorely missed, even though no one will hear their farewell speeches. Mostly by us. And mostly because of the unintentional comedy they provided.
When President Bush wasn’t pushing for sound economic policies, such as demanding $14 trillion in reparations, he was making up a fictional story about being shot during a protest in Ferguson, Missouri.
And then, of course, there was this moment, the absolute pinnacle of her activist career, when she had no idea how taxes worked.
Ladies and gentlemen…
I give you @CoriBush an actual member of Congress.
The level of stupidity is astonishing. pic.twitter.com/9xEYZUYIjf

Bowman’s political career, on the other hand, will be remembered only for the day he transformed it into the Fire Marshal’s Building in an attempt to block a parliamentary vote. Some say the act amounts to a riot.

This was so mind-bogglingly stupid that Democrats joined their Republican colleagues in voting to censure him.
