Riot Games has unveiled Vyse, the newest agent for its 5v5 tactical shooter Valorant. This defensive Sentinel hero uses liquid metal to isolate, capture, and disarm aggressive players who dive recklessly.
“With Vyse, we wanted to create a Sentinel that had a solution for taking up space for duelists in a way that wasn’t primarily aimed at buying time,” said Kevin Meier, Valorant game designer at Riot Games. “During development, we often thought of Vyse’s setup as being like a Spider Web, where players could enter the web, but if they got stuck it would deal a fatal blow.”
While Vyse doesn’t have the intel gathering tools of other Sentinel agents, he makes up for it with the flexibility of setting traps and the ability to seal off spaces against multiple enemies.
She also has a flashbang that blinds enemies, the first true flash for an agent in her role, which makes her more defensive toolkit important when players are on the offensive and encourages players to experiment with team compositions instead.
