Operation Daybreak (Season 2)
Matching the release of Siege X is the start of Operation Daybreak, the second season of Rainbow Sive Siege 10. This season brings balanced updates for various operators, changes in electrical and limb damage, and operator remasters for collisions.
Clash was the first defender to use the shield, and it’s her CCE Shield that received some important upgrades. She can now deploy the CCE Shield Mk2 and release her to move more quickly and position herself to play from the stationary position of the shield. While the shield is deployed, Clash can remotely operate the taser and apply shocking and slow effects in a wide cone-shaped area. A defender who wants to remove this obstacle will simply destroy and destroy the shield if he uses an explosive or gets close enough (but a collision or her allies can also perform this burst-through manipulation for a surprise attack).
Clash can still play with her shield at hand or on her back, and has been updated to automatically collapse and expand as she sprints, squats, vaults, and crashes through barricades. She can unfold it, retrieve it and place it somewhere else. It’s more agile, more versatile, and gives your defensive team more ways to become an absolute force with collisions.
Some notable balance updates will also arrive along with Operation Daybreak.
Electricity will no longer damage the operator. This is a neutral element that still slows down the operator and destroys gadgets regardless of team affiliation.
Limb damage will decrease and aiming for the middle mass or head is more important than ever.
Shield operators will no longer be able to aim for vision while vaulting or dropping from high levels.
Blackbeard’s shield glass is colored to make it easier to see if it’s on top or bottom.
The Jackal pings the enemy’s position once after scanning the footprint, and the footprint disappears immediately after it is scanned. He can also use it five times, increasing from the current three times.
Jager will be able to eliminate Capitan bolts and gridlock tracks stains with his active defense system.
Thunderbird will no longer allow enemies to heal from Kona stations (unless Brava’s Kludge drones take over them).
Sledge will be able to knock down the shield users he comes across (which he may do more often, as attackers and defenders can be on the same team on dual front).
Operation Daybreak will begin on June 10th and read the complete news breakdown on the official Rainbow Six Siege website.
R6 shield guard and anti-toxicity
Introduced earlier this year, the R6 ShieldGuard is a unified game security and anti-cheat tool developed by the Rainbow Six Siege team, helping to ensure fair competition for everyone. Cheat reports are trending as more scammers are banned with the introduction of new security-enhancing technologies in Season 1.
Season 2 brings major security updates and powerful changes to how updates are delivered. Soon, the unified anti-cheat system will become completely dynamic, allowing developer teams to push new game executables directly to players at any time during the season, making it much more difficult for cheat makers to adapt. This aggressive approach continues throughout seasons 3 and 4 as teams work with professional players and communities to continuously improve the system.
In addition to protecting the competitive fairness of Siege X, the team is also focused on making the game more respectful and safe for all players. The now-activated reputation system has reduced the number of negative actions, including abusive language reductions, but text chat usage has increased along with reports of positive actions within the game. Seasons 3 and 4 will continue to bolster these efforts with voice chat moderation, new reputation system action, improved privacy settings, penalty waiver and in-game reports.
Season 3 & 4

Looking forward to the season beyond Operation Daybreak, the Siege X team has shared some information about their roadmap for the second half of this year. Season 3 brings about three modernized maps of Nighthaven, Lair and the Consulate, as well as dual front allocation changes with new operators and narrative connections. This new defender is originally from Switzerland and introduces new weapons to the game. Players looking for a true competitive challenge have many opportunities when the Siege Cup is available over the weekend and can inspect opponents’ statistics before the match begins. Plus, keep an eye out for returning Halloween events with new maps.
In Season 4, special in-game events are planned to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the siege of the Rainbow Six. The season also offers remasters of the attacker operators and another new weapon that will be available for the first time by multiple operators upon release (initially as part of the Battle Pass, and later for everyone).
Two more modernized maps are inbound theme parks and skyscrapers, in addition to the complete rework and modernization of the third map. In addition to a major update to the training mode, which includes targets for Keres Legion instead of test dummies, there are season 4 as well as improvements to the ongoing balance that addresses ranked matchmaking, new dual front allocations, and EMP and jamming systems. Finally, a new playlist called the Test Ground serves as a place where teams can explore new ideas and gather feedback as they shape the future of Siege X.
The full release of seasons 3 and 4 will take place in the second half of 2025, but it’s enough to say it’s a big year for Rainbow Six Siege X.
Rainbow Six Siege X is available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, and PC via Ubisoft Connect, Steam, and Epic Games, and Ubisoft+ Premium subscriptions.
