Samsung Unpacked is coming up this weekend, and while we won’t officially know anything about the company’s latest devices until then, a lot of information has already leaked. The most notable leaks are: Dealabs report details Full specifications of the new Galaxy Watch 7 series.
Plus: What to expect from Samsung Unpacked Summer 2024: Galaxy Z Fold 6, Watch Ultra, Smart Ring, and more
The Galaxy Watch 7 will be available in two sizes, 40mm and 44mm, and three dial colors: green, cream, and silver. The watch will reportedly feature an aluminum exterior case, sapphire glass on the front, and a 3D glass dial on the back. The Watch 7 specs also support Bluetooth connectivity, but there should also be a 4G version if you want data without using a cellular connection.
The company’s first premium smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch Ultra, will be available in one size, 47mm, and three dial colors: titanium gray, titanium silver, and titanium white. It will support both 4G and Bluetooth connectivity and will feature the same sapphire and 3D glass as the base version, but the case will be made of titanium.
Both the base and Ultra versions feature Super AMOLED displays, run on an Exynos W1000 processor, and come with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage (that’s double the storage of the Galaxy Watch 6).
Apparently, there will be some slight differences in battery life between the three sizes: leaked specs suggest that the 40mm and 44mm options of the Watch 7 will come with 300mAh and 425mAh batteries, respectively, while the 47mm Watch Ultra will pack the biggest 590mAh battery.
The leaked specs also show that all watches will feature standard IP6X dust resistance, with the Watch Ultra sporting a slightly higher water resistance of 10 ATM compared to the regular Watch 7’s 5 ATM.
Other specifications are the same across the series: in terms of connectivity we have Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, NFC, GPS dual frequency (L1+L5), and the operating system is One UI Watch 6.0. Sensors include GPS, light and geomagnetic, accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer, temperature, heart rate, etc., so there are no particular surprises.
Plus: Up to $1,500 off the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 smartphones — here’s how you can qualify
Since Dealabs is a French publication, they have an estimate of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 price in France and could potentially provide a rough estimate of the price in the US as well. The 40mm Bluetooth version will cost $343, while the 44mm will cost $375. Upgrading to the 4G version will add about $50 to either version. Naturally, the Ultra will be the most expensive version, coming in at around $750.
The bottom line? While the outside is mostly the same, the insides are a major upgrade from the Galaxy Watch 6. The Watch 7 should offer greater efficiency, better performance, and bigger storage capacity.
The full reveal of the Galaxy Watch 7, Galaxy Ring, next-generation foldable, and other new Samsung devices is expected to take place at the company’s upcoming Unpacked event, scheduled for July 10 at 9 a.m. ET.
