Ciriel Deserz scored the landmark’s 50th Rangers goal as the Light Blues defeated Dundee United 3-1 in the final home premiership game of the season.
In thousands of empty Ibrox seats, defender Sam Creal Harding was heading forward with Taysider 21 minutes later, before Deserz equalised with the header five minutes later.
The Deserz scored a penalty in the 73rd minute on the 28th goal of the season, and midfielder Nicholas Ruskin quickly added a third after signing the Rangers two seasons ago.
The defeat still leaves United in fifth place and is about to win a European spot in their final match at home on Saturday.
It was also the final home match for former Rangers captain Barry Ferguson, who took over as boss in February until the end of the season.
Back-to-back Ibrox wins
It was another miserable, trophyless domestic season for rangers who are in the midst of an imminent purchase bid from Andrew Cavena and the American consortium of the 49ers corporations despite reaching the quarterfinals of the Europa League, which was defeated by Athletic Bilbao.
Davide Ancelotti, about 35 years old – the assistant and son of Italian boss Carlo Ancelotti, recently agreed to leave Real Madrid for Brazil.
The second-placed Rangers finished the season with Hibernian on Saturday, then another reconstruction programme will be held as the club attempts to close the gap behind champion Celtic, who is chasing the sixth domestic high in nine years.
The game had an atmosphere of the end of the season.
Jack Butland’s return on goal may have been interpreted as a goodbye figure as he lost his place to Liam Kelly last month, but striker Hamza Igamane took over from Nedim Bajrami.
United boss Jim Goodwin made four changes that included goalkeeper David Richards’ first league start and Clear Harding, Alan Campbell and Kai Fotheringham as well.
On the 14th minute with a modest start, Igaman led the header from 14 yards wide on the far post. This is the first real attempt at the goal.
Butland made a decent save from Glen Middleton’s drive from the same distance before a better stop from striker Sam Dalby prevented the opening game.
However, United’s breakthrough was only a few seconds behind as 19-year-old Creal Harding jumped alone in a six-yard box and jumped towards Ryan’s nervous corner.
Deserz then headed from Jeff-Tecross to Level.
In the 55th minute, the striker nicked the ball from a hesitant Richards in the box, but was unable to finish, and Will cleared the danger.
Deserz went down the box under pressure from United defender Declan Gallagher, but umpire Calm Scott ignored the weak penalty charges, just as Vicco Severgi challenged midfielder Mohamed Diomande in the box.
However, Val sent Scott to the pitchside monitor and sent Richards the wrong way, pointing to Spot and Deserz, who took over the penalty mission from skipper James Tavernier.
Two minutes later, winger Vaclav Cerny slid into Raskin and he slammed a drive past Richards to close the point.
