Vogue’s Taylor Antrim didn’t mince words in her review: trenddescribed the film as having “a bizarre plot, scenes of the actors simply staring blankly into space (scrolls enhanced vision), a total lack of romantic interest between the two leads, and a twist ending that will have you shrugging.”
In these kinds of films, sometimes a really clever twist can redeem a film’s shortcomings, but Antrim says the twist isn’t even worth the price of admission or streaming. Anonymous It’s available on Netflix. From the way Antrim paints the picture, it seems like a pretty boring movie.
Finally, Matthew Bond of the Daily Mail UK agreed with Miller’s comments that the film was stylish, but had nothing good to say about the rest of the film, stating that “It’s undoubtedly a stylish film noir, but it’s marred by an overwrought script.”
Very few reviews have mentioned the script being good, which is a shame considering how good Nicole’s work is.
