House Republicans announced plans to cut Medicaid on Sunday night. This was also a holiday in the US.

The AP reported Regarding new requirements in House Republican law, “To qualify for Medicaid, there are new “Community Engagement Requirements” for work, education, or services for adults, at least 80 hours per dependent’s hourly job, education, or education.

CBO Analysing House Republican proposals, he concluded:

The expiration date of the expanded premium tax credit will increase the number of people without health insurance in 2034 by 4.2 million compared to estimates of permanent extensions of these credits. That amount is reflected in the CBO’s baseline forecast as the expanded tax credit expires under current law this year.

•Finally determining the proposed 2025 market integrity and affordability rules, we estimate that the number of people without health insurance will increase by 1.8 million in 2034. Half of that increase is included in the CBO baseline as the rules are currently proposed. The other half is included in the estimate that we will codify the rules of Part 2 of the Committee’s Subtitle D on Energy and Commercial Settlement Recommendations.
