Several of the newly announced major health centres in talc, including Hanur, Alanavar, Annigeri, Maski, Sirivar, Kapu, Babaleshwar, Kolhar, Cheluru and Terdal, will be upgraded to community health centres. Additionally, a new CHC will be established in Ponnampet.
Renovations of major hospitals are also being planned. Talka Hospitals in Malur, Magadi, Kusharanagar, Koratagare, Jagarul, Savanur, Ramadurga, Sabadatti, and District Hospitals and Wenrock Hospitals in Dhabangare, Mangaluru, will be upgraded at a cost of Rs 650. By upgrading the existing 100-bed Talca Hospital, a new medical college will be installed at Puttur.
Piloted in Kollah between 2024-25, the “Gruha Aarogya Scheme” will be expanded statewide at a cost of Rs 100 to screen and treat six non-communicable diseases.
Further investments include upgrades to 200-bed hospitals in Morakarmur (Chitradurga district), 400-bed hospitals in Vilajapete (Kodag district), and 100-bed hospitals in Tagadur’s Community Health Centre (Mysur district). The extensive repairs to the district and the talc hospital will be made in stages at a cost of Rs 183.
Under Kalyana Karnataka’s comprehensive health scheme, Rs 873 will be spent on improving health indicators in the region and strengthening the health system. The cancer diagnostic unit will be set up at Bidar Government Medical College Hospital, while the institution modeled after Nimhans will be set up at Mysuru and Kalaburagi Medical Colleges, each costing Rs 100 each.
Additionally, the super specialty hospital will be built for Rs 100 under the Koppal Medical Institute, and the Kidwy Peripheral Cancer Treatment Unit will be set up at Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital in Raichur, RS 50 Krull.
