When Nico Iamaleava signed a non-smash contract Tennessee He left high school and reported him $2 million a year.

In response to reports in the last 24 hours, either Iamaleava is working to renegotiate that deal in the $4 million range of annually, especially as the quarterback market has risen, even though the SEC market has denied that IAMALEAVA’s father has the idea.

Sources say Iamaleava, who missed Tennessee practice on Friday, has not spoken with Tennessee group – Spire Sports Group in months. There are some chatters from Knoxville sources that these Iamaleava renegotiations are rumoured to be playing hardball.

The situation is too fluid to really get a solid detail at this point. It is unclear what the plans for Iamaleava’s Saturday spring match are.

But the stories that emerge from some media insiders on Friday are hilarious at best and stupid at worst.

For example, he takes 104.5 ESPN Baton Rouge and calls Iamaleava “a mediocre player who’s either making the college booster base more cash or he’s going to leave.”

Or 680thefan’s Bullet Sallyformerly from CBS Sports, Iamaleava said, “It’s not that good. … Tennessee can find someone else.”

Or Fox Sports Chris Farika Iamaleavea pointed out that he threw 19 touchdowns last season. Vanderbilt.

Rapid Tennessee Homer clay Travis “Not my phone, but with Nico No Showing practice in Tennessee, I cut off the bait. You can’t have the team leaders this immature decision. His family makes really poor decisions.

Remember some things and put others in context. Last season, Iamaleava was his first starter. He certainly didn’t have a historic year, but he’s even drafted many recent No. 1 quarterbacks.

Caleb Williams threw for 1,912 yards and 21 touchdowns in his first season Oklahoma Against Big 12 defense. He transferred to USCthe next coach Lincoln Riley, And he completely ruled.

Kyler Murray was a disaster in his first season Texas A&Mthrowing five touchdowns and seven interceptions. What would the Aggies pay to keep him at the university station and not move to Oklahoma, who pitched 42 TDS in 2018?

Baker Mayfield threw 12 TDs and nine picks in his one season Texas Tech Before transferring to Oklahoma, he threw 119 touchdowns in three seasons.

Joe Burrow did nothing Ohio Coach for three years Urban Meyer He didn’t think much about him, then he transferred to LSU, threw 60 touchdowns in 2019 on one of the best performances in college football history. What would have happened if the Buckeyes paid him there to develop?

Recent No. 1 quarterback Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence AlabamaBlythe Young was an outlier. They ruled when they stepped into the field. But if the idea about Iamaleava is that he is overrated and he is not worth millions of dollars as he is not like Young or Lawrence, then those are unrealistic expectations.

Iamaleava was the second prospect in the 2023 class for many reasons. He has an insanely skilled skill, he is a free-tale athlete and can dominate football games. So he didn’t throw 40 touchdowns from the gates of Knoxville.

He was also not surrounded by world-class receivers. Lawrence had Tee Higgins and Justin Ross in his freshman season. Young was throwing at Jameson Williams and John Metchie, and had an offensive line that wouldn’t let him touch him.

Also, remember Iamaleava won Tennessee in the college football playoffs last season, making it his first appearance and lost to the ultimate national champion Ohio State.

The Vols have won double digits in their first season twice in the last 17 seasons, once in 2022, and last year in Iamaleava’s first season.

Maybe missed practice and potentially a spring game will be a PR failure where Iamaleava won’t return. Maybe Knoxville turned him on. Some of the media certainly have a one-season lens, so we forget that not everyone is a miraculous worker from day one.

Maybe this paying player world demands immediate success, or the player may be ass.

Iamaleava is the farthest from that.

Tennessee must be on his hands and laps pleading him not to enter the relocation portal. Pay the man even if the negotiations are not being processed accurately. Close aide. Not everyone is sophisticated Ali gold.

Losing Iamaleava is a disaster for Vols. Williams, Murray and Mayfield all left. Which fans of these programs won’t collect all the pennies possible to get them back?
