Amazon Prime Video’s hit series Fallout is returning for a second installment, and executive producer Jonathan Nolan says fans can expect even more this time around.
The show is based on the popular video game series of the same name, and the TV adaptation has been well-received since its initial release on April 10, 2024.
The series quickly became one of the most-watched shows in Prime Video history and garnered a whopping 17 Emmy nominations, including the coveted Outstanding Drama Series.
Speaking to The Wrap about the upcoming second season, which will soon begin filming, director Jonathan Nolan said: “We’ve learned so much about the characters and the way they interact and talk to each other. [in the first season] And the exciting possibilities for various encounters between characters who have not yet met each other.
“But we also found a way to make all the monsters, and we’re now designing and building even more monsters, more environments, more factions, and we’ll be going into production very soon. So, we’re really excited.”
“I’ve never experienced anything like this before…” said the Fallout season 2 producer.
When asked how it felt to have fans trust him, Nolan said that even his mother has become a true fan.
“I never make something with the aim of it being a global hit. I believe you should just make what you love and not worry about whether it will draw a big audience or not, just try to make the best thing possible. [cocreators] Geneva [Robertson-Dworet and] Graham [Wagnerand]I, Todd [Howard] What the rest of the team was trying to do.
“I think we knew how popular the games were, and we knew as fans that we didn’t know if they would survive being made into a film. But the reason we wanted to turn these games into films is because they had a totally unique feel to them. We’d never experienced anything like it, whether in games or in movies or on TV.”
