What is the Exodus conspiracy?
The plot of Exodus may seem relatively simple at first glance, but Official timeline The universe released by Archetype is a lot Digest and let the whole thing feel much grander than we expected. So sit tight and listen.
In 2,200 AD (40,000 years ago at this point), humanity was forced to abandon a dying Earth and find a new home in Centauri. Several fleets of giant arks arrived at the Centauri star cluster in 18,000 AD. They began colonizing habitable planets and sent out a “green world” signal to summon other arks. Because signals travel slowly, over the next several centuries the first arrivals were able to establish vast interstellar societies and empires.
Over thousands of years, these empires rose and fell, and with the help of highly developed genetic engineering, humanity changed and evolved. These transhumans call themselves “Celestials” and split into dozens of diverse species. Violence between empires continued until around 28,000 AD, culminating in the War of Formation. Meanwhile, the new ark arrivals, who are far less technologically advanced, are relegated to a small world.
Two thousand years after the War of Formation, a celestial species known as the Elohim rose to power and created an interstellar network connecting all Centauri star systems. This begins a new era of exploration and trade that lasts approximately 5,000 years. Above all, there will be peace and prosperity. Even though they are gone, the new Celestial Empire continues to follow its most important laws.
Another major development brought about by the Elohim was ultra-advanced technology that allowed hundreds of habitable planets to be transferred to entirely new systems. Among them is Lydon, whose long-lost Ark of Man quietly arrives around 41,500 AD. After barely surviving two centuries on the ruins of Detenir’s fallen celestial civilization, a human traveler named Orion Aslan emerges as the leader and savior of Lydon.
The Travelers venture into deep space to retrieve Celestial technology to improve Ridon society and give them a fighting chance against the rival Celestial Empire. This Orion establishes the Aslan dynasty and rules his homeworld while he is away in the stars (yes, time dilation is a big element in this story).
After a final escape and the creation of a perfect successor (Jun Aslan) with both celestial and human DNA, Orion disappears and Gideon Aslan (Jun’s half-brother) takes complete control of the dynasty. Seizes power and becomes the ruler of Ridon. Players take control of Jun, a secret hunter who can interact with Celestial technology to gain the upper hand against humanity’s greatest threats.
What kind of game is Exodus?
Exodus is described as an action-adventure RPG packed with third-person gunplay and melee combat, as well as exploration and social interaction. The player character will be “constantly outnumbered and overwhelmed” and will rely on stealth and decision-making as well as firepower.
Many adventures take players beyond the Centauri star system and into unknown and often hostile worlds. This includes exploring ancient ruins and interacting with alien cultures and societies that came from the first humans to arrive on Centauri. But traveling at the limits of the speed of light changes everything the player leaves behind as the day they return home becomes decades or even centuries.
Finally, another element brought over from the Mass Effect series is the loyal companions and allies you find along your journey. This includes regular humans as well as members of the alien Celestial race, each bringing unique skills and storytelling opportunities.
