The prequels of Star Wars always portrayed Yoda as something different to politicians like Palpatine… The future emperor hatched a scheme mostly hatched from the shadows, but this Jedi warrior fell into danger other than a lightsaber and some bad CGI. And it’s easy to eradicate this little green man, as he is presented as the ultimate force of a good fight against Palpatine’s plan to take over the galaxy. However, the fact that Yoda, who lived mostly in the Millennium and led the Jedi for centuries, was led by American politicians, is as responsible as Palpatine in the destruction of the Old Republic.
Despite what Cranky Fanboy says, Star Wars has always been political. George Lucas was explicitly based on Emperor Palpatine on Richard Nixon, and used Ewok as a symbol of Vietnamese that resisted the powerful American war machine. So it’s not that It’s crazy to compare our own ancient politicians with the people of Star Wars and discover some similarities… For example, certain American politicians are in power. far It’s longer than Palpatine’s 23 years. But Yoda is both herself when it comes to destined for everyone they were supposed to protect, worse than both American politicians and Palpatine himself.

Now, there are some who say it’s not fair to compare Yoda to politicians, so here’s another difficult truth. Not only Jedi politicians, they were the most corrupt in a distant galaxy. These are galactic police forces with divine power, effectively representing billions of existence as government ambassadors…but they have no real external surveillance. Acolite When someone tries to investigate them, they are willing to hide their heinous crimes. And it was Yoda who, for centuries, was the main side of all this incompetence. Yoda hid the presence of his diminishing power abilities until the Jedi were everywhere too late.
At Canon, Yoda was a member of the Jedi Council for over 350 years. In other words, he had a leadership position in this elite group for longer than the whole. lifetime of various galactic aliens. On paper, that’s fine, as he is strong and wise. He’s the kind of leader who can provide wise men’s advice and kick the butt with a lightsaber. But by the time of the first part, this ancient alien had kept a rather terrible secret from everyone. His ability to use his powers is diminished along with others. And it’s this failure that most people make Yoda look like an American politician.
Looking beyond the Yankee plot in the first part, Yoda is revealed as a de facto politician who has been in power for centuries and refuses to resign when he realizes he has lost his order of power. It is entirely possible that a new young leader could have identified this power issue and perhaps even speculated that Palpatine was the lord of the Sith. But like countless real-world politicians before him, Yoda refuses to give up his power, leading to a complete Jedi genocide that could easily be prevented.

Of course, this is not to reduce the evil deeds of Palpatine or his evil interns, but the point is that Yoda could have felt the intentions of this predatory politician. especially After he learned that the Sith Lord was clearly hidden. Perhaps Yoda in past years could have done so, but the Jedi Masters in the first half were no longer able to control their powers. If he was willing to resign, or if he had worked with some young Brads with new ideas (like Ahsoka), Order 66 would have been easily prevented.
At this point, Yoda lovers may be screaming on the screen that he is better than the old American politicians and tried his best to stop Palpatine’s plans. But the little green guru had to learn his most famous lessons in the most painful way.
