What is Medicaid?
Medicaid is a state and federal program that funds healthcare for more than 70 million Americans. That’s one in five Americans.
This includes people with disabilities, elderly people, children living in poverty, and families who care for their loved ones.
Medicaid makes people healthier and save lives.
This is a lifeline for aging and disability care at home and nursing facilities. It pays almost half of all American births.. It also helps to keep rural hospitals open and run.
Many Americans don’t even realize they have Medicaid because they are in different names in each state.
Without Medicaid, more people will be forced to go without the necessary care until they reach a breakpoint and need emergency care. Americans get sick and hospitals get overloaded.

But Trump and Republicans want to take care of workers from their health to pay for additional tax cuts for billionaires and large corporations.
You’ll hear Trump and Republicans hiding behind bureaucratic jargon:
Block grants = Instead of matching the cost, give each state a set amount of Medicaid funds. This will reduce benefits and limit the state’s budget.
Work requirements = Have the recipient jump the hoop and prove their work status. This will deprive care from disabled people, elderly people and family caregivers.
Lifetime Cap =Each American has price restrictions on healthcare. Essentially, it ends the care of millions of Americans who need it the most.
But it’s all flashy way to say Trump and Republicans can cut Medicaid and get a tax credit on the rich, saying they want to cut health care from millions of people.
