Philadelphia Phillies fans remained breathless as Bryce Harper was excavated with a 95 mph fastball at the bottom of the first inning before falling on his knees. The incident occurred Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park, where the Phillies were playing against the Atlanta Braves.
Braves pitcher Spencer Strider threw a fastball that hit Harper in the same right elbow that he had surgery on Tommy John in 2022.
Team manager Rob Thompson and team trainer rushed to check his condition from the dugout. A few minutes later, Bryce Harper was seen walking himself towards the dugout.

The X-ray report has returned to negative, with the team saying Harper is dealing with conspiracy in his right elbow. In his absence, infielder Edmund Sosa took him to Fields, where Alec Baume took over first.
Currently there are no reports on the Superstar return timeline. But the blows are bigger given the number of games Harper stands by for the Phillies. The team is currently rolling with a 34-19 record and nine games of victory.

The only concern the Philadelphia Phillies currently has is the negative X-ray reporting, which is Bryce Harper’s right elbow. The same elbow that was surgically repaired after he led the team to the 2022 World Series.
After the surgery, he missed the start of the 2023 season and joined the team in May. He was also marked as the player who returned the fastest from Tommy John’s surgery in 160 days. He had far surpassed his typical recovery time, which usually lasts for 12-18 months for rehabilitation after this surgery.
Last season, Harper suffered from elbow stimulation with the same hand, but no IL stint was needed. His inflammation was reported to have nothing to do with Tommy John’s surgery.
So far, in the 2025 season, he has continued his roll with eight home runs, 33 RBIs and a batting average of .267. He is the cornerstone of the team, and his absence could affect the team’s performance in upcoming games.
