PORTLAND, Ore. — Victor Wembaneyama scored 28 points and hit two free throws with 2.1 seconds left to lift the San Antonio Spurs past the Portland Trail Blazers 118-116 on Friday night.
Jerami Grant hit a layup with 6.1 seconds left to tie the game at 116, but he fouled Wembaneyama, who hit the charity stripe for the win.

The Blazers led by as many as 17 points in the final period, but San Antonio tied it at 109 on a Jeremy Sochan free throw, and a Julien Champagnie 3-pointer with 2:08 left gave the Spurs the lead.

The Spurs had only 11 players available due to injuries and lost veteran guard Chris Paul in the first half with two technical fouls.

San Antonio led 52-42 at the half, but Grant hit a 3-pointer midway through the third quarter to tie the Blazers at 60 points. The Blazers led 88-80 entering the fourth quarter and led 105-88 with 8:18 left.
For the Blazers, Grant scored 32 points, including 22 in the third quarter, and Anfernee Simons scored 30 points. Devin Vassell scored 23 points off the bench for the Spurs.
