In what can only be described as a moment of obvious tension at the Kennedy Center Honors Ceremony, President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden appeared to snub Vice President Kamala Harris.
When they were greeted with a standing ovation at the 47th annual Kennedy Center Honors ceremony, the Bidens did not even bother to acknowledge or even glance at Harris, who applauded enthusiastically. Her husband, Doug Emhoff, was standing right next to Kamala.
The awkward exchange was captured on video and quickly went viral on social media platforms.
Tensions are high between Biden and Harris. And this very public snub comes in the wake of Harris’ defeat in the 2024 presidential election, which drew condemnation from Democratic supporters.
