WARSAW, Poland (CelebrityAccess) — Warner Music Southeast Europe has announced the opening of Warner Music Balkan, the label group’s newest regional office.
The joint venture is a collaboration between WM SEE, Croatian label Dancing Bear, Serbian label Mascom and Slovenian label NIKA, and will bring local artists from the Western Balkans under one label and connect them to Warner’s global network.
Izabela Ciszek-Podziemska, general manager of WM SEE, will oversee the joint venture in addition to her current duties.
Warner said the joint venture will focus on signing artists primarily from Croatia, Serbia and Slovenia, but also plans to sign artists from other Western Balkan countries, including Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro and North Macedonia.
Upcoming releases on Warner Music Balkans include “Jug represent” by Ukic, the rising rap star from a small town in Serbia who rose to fame with his single “Tenzija,” which was streamed more than six million times last year.
“Warner Music Balkans is the culmination of a team effort that has taken place over the past few years in pursuit of collaborations with the best partners in the region. Combining our joint ventures and investments under one label benefits all involved and ensures artists get the best from Warner Music’s global network. With talented artists such as Edita, Sergey Pajić and Łukic releasing music on the label, we look forward to a fantastic summer festival season!” said Izabela Ciszek-Podziemska.
“We are very excited to announce the launch of WM Balkan. Hits can come from anywhere and this new venture will allow us to explore exciting cross-collaborations. We are looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together,” added Silvier Varga, co-founder and MD of Dancing Bear.
