The Internet laments popular and well-known travel influencers.
Vanessa Konopka, a native of Germany who shared her adventures in Boracay, Philippines under the name @Happinesscrossing, passed away on March 7th after a battle with liver damage and pneumonia.
She was 28 years old.

The terrible news is just becoming a virus right now.
“Everyone, Vanessa passed away this morning, March 7th. She has always loved connecting with you. Her love for the Philippines has surpassed words,” Fernando wrote on Facebook last month.
“Once again I can ask for your prayers. God can bring comfort to the heart of her loved one. I trust him. He is with Vanessa and I know that God is always with us.”
Fernando – A social media user who spoke about him on a trip to the Philippines with Vanessa also addressed his late girlfriend online.

“If you’re probably reading this somewhere, thank you for teaching me how to love you, it doesn’t matter what other people think,” he wrote.
“She taught me how to love myself and how to pursue my dreams! I will love you forever and we may see each other again.”
Konopka was famous for her video blog entitled Happiness Intersecting with her Boyfriend.
The couple we met in Australia documented their lives in the Philippines, including spending time on the beach while trying out Filipino cuisine.
In GoFundMe, created earlier this year, Fernando explained that Vanessa was hospitalized in the Philippines in December 2024.
He said she “has been diagnosed with severe liver damage and pneumonia, which made her very weak.”
About a month later, Vanessa uploaded her final post. She detailed the struggle at a Philippine hospital that lived in Fernando.
“Sad, overthinking, pain,” Vanessa wrote in a video detailing her experiences as a patient.
“This Filipino doctor came to my room and told me how much his wife loves my video and whether we could call her.”
Before her hospitalization, Vanessa had been dealing with the illness for several months, and she shared a message to her followers during this difficult time.
“This time I realized how important health is,” she wrote a message on Instagram in June 2024.
We send thoughts and prayers to those who know Vanessa Konopka. I hope she can rest in peace.
