On Thursday, I wrote The final kind of story I’ve always wanted to write about it. We consider this pale skin to be under threat from the fascist regime.
We are faced with actions from the Department of Justice. I carefully choose those words. It hasn’t been officially submitted yet, but when it’s on top of this part of the government, namely Donald Trump’s order, it’s serious. This DOJ has abandoned all the pretenses of chasing real criminals (Trump is just forgiving them), and now he is focused straight on silence his enemies.
That includes people like us. It includes people who have spoken the truth for more than decades and have built a platform for you to fight back.

This wasn’t just about me. Or even a daily kos. It’s about what we’ve built together over the last 23 years. For democracy, space to fight for decency, for governments that serve people, not authoritarians. And equally important, it’s A community– Where people who care about them find each other, lift each other up and know that they are not alone in this fight.
Financial support wasn’t the only thing you gave on Thursday. It reminded us of how deeply connected we are. When one of us is under threat, the rest of us will appear. That we have each other’s backs. I’m just getting emotional just typing it. (Who’s kidding? I was an emotional wreck writing this whole piece. )

This is evidence that this community is strong. That’s kindness. And be prepared to stand together no matter what.
