President Trump’s approvals are rising in blue New Jersey. At this point, he is more popular with garden statistics than Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy.
The 2024 election saw a lot of speculation about the possibility that New Jersey could turn the red over for the first time in years. Although it didn’t happen in the end, Trump was still better in the nation than many Democrats expected.
Trump did so well in New Jersey that Republican activist Scott Pressler often supports Pennsylvania Flip Red, launching a new campaign in 2028 to do the same thing in New Jersey.
Based on this, it appears to be possible.
Town Hall Report:
Trump surges in deep blue New Jersey when voters turn on Democratic governors
New Jersey voters are looking at President Donald Trump more favorably than his Democratic governor, Phil Murphy, amid the marked shifts in the deep blue state. Despite years of anti-Trump rhetoric from state leaders and the media, the figures suggest a growing frustration among residents, especially as high taxes, increased inflation and cost-of-living pressures hit Americans.
The recent Emerson College/PIX 11/The Hill vote shows that even voters in New Jersey have been destroyed. In comparison, an additional 47% are disapproved, while 6% remain undecided or neutral. Murphy, by contrast, is underwater in his own state. Only 40% of voters give him a positive rating, but left him with a 5-point net negative compared to 45% of disapproved. Another 15% of those surveyed did not express any clear opinions.
The poll has been impressive since Democrats won every election in the state since 1992. Former President Joe Biden carried 16 points across Garden State in 2020, while former Vice President Kamala Harris carried just six points across the state. This was the worst performance of the Democrats in decades.
This is great news.
