The stupidest and most incompetent thing Congressional Republicans ever did was allow our country to reach the debt ceiling in 2025. This is a mistake and something that must be addressed now.
Meanwhile, Congress is considering a spending bill that would give government censors and Liz Cheney sweetheart clauses. This bill would make it easier to hide the record of the corrupt January 6th commission, which accomplished nothing for the American people and failed to address the security failures that occurred that day. I hid it. The bill would also give Congress a pay raise as many Americans struggle this Christmas.
Raising the debt ceiling isn’t great, but we’d much rather do it on Biden’s watch. If Democrats won’t cooperate on the debt ceiling now, why would anyone expect them to do so in June when they’re in power? Let’s have this discussion now. And we should pass a streamlined spending bill that doesn’t give Chuck Schumer and the Democrats everything they want.
Republicans want to help farmers, pay for disaster relief, and set our country up for success in 2025. The only way to do that is through a combination of a temporary funding bill with no aid from Democrats and an increase in the debt ceiling. Anything else is a betrayal of our country.
Republicans have to get smarter and tougher. If the Democrats threaten to shut down the government unless we give them everything they want, call them their bluff. Schumer and Biden. Those who continue to assist our farmers and provide disaster relief.
