New polls in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin support a NYT/Siena poll that shows Donald Trump losing in battleground states.
New poll from the Independent Center for Blue Wall States According to the poll, Kamala Harris is currently leading Trump in Wisconsin 49% to 40%, Pennsylvania 45% to 41% and Michigan 45% to 40%.
Below the head-to-head scores, Trump’s problems become clear. Trump’s favorability rating in the three states combined is a net (-14). Trump The favorable rating is 42% and the unfavorable rating is 56%.
Kamala Harris The favorability rating is net (0), 49% to 49%.
In Michigan and Wisconsin, Trump’s favorable/unfavorable ratings are 42% to 56%. In Pennsylvania, Trump’s rating is 43% to 55%.
Harris is holding 49%-49% support in Michigan and Wisconsin, and is a net (-1) in Pennsylvania (48%-49%).
The personality questions in three states were highly revealing: When asked which candidate they would most like to have a beer with, Harris led Trump 40% to 36%. Voters in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania said they would never hire Trump to babysit their kids, and when asked which candidate they would hire to babysit their kids, Harris led Trump 45% to 20%.
Democrats call Trump a lunatic I have worked, Voters in the three states said Trump was stranger than Harris by 45% to 32%.
While these personality questions normally wouldn’t mean much, when combined with Trump’s high disapproval ratings they suggest voters don’t like or trust him.
The problem for Democrats wasn’t the policies. It was that voters didn’t expect much from Biden. And then there was the Trump rematch. Democrats offered voters a fresher, younger and more joyful candidate, and voters responded.
Republicans cannot solve the problem because the problem is Donald Trump. If Harris maintains her current approval ratings, Trump will face disaster in battleground states because voters do not like Donald Trump or do not want to vote for him.
