The Trump administration is expanding offshore capabilities by suspending offshore leasing, urging lawsuits, overturning Biden management policies that restrict oil and gas development.

Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgham has directed the Office of Marine Energy Management to hold the first administrative offshore lease sale in the US Gulf as the first proposed sales notice scheduled for June is scheduled.

“By continuing to expand our outside capabilities, the US will ensure affordable energy for consumers, strengthen domestic industries and strengthen its role as an energy superpower,” the Home Office says. “Opening the external continental shelf to unlock domestic energy possibilities that were blocked under the previous administration is central to this strategy,” he said, expecting to generate tens of thousands of well-paid jobs across the industry.

Boem has also released new ones analysis The outer continental shelf of the US Gulf states that there will be a significant increase in estimated oil and natural gas reserves. The Boem updated assessment evaluated over 140 oil and natural gas fields, identified 18 new discoveries and analyzed over 37,000 reservoirs in 1,336 fields on the Gulf.

“Since 2021, 1.3 billion barrels of oil have been added, with the total reserve estimate equaling 7.04 billion barrels of oil, which includes 5.77 billion barrels of oil and 7.15 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.

“This new data confirms that we’ve always known: America is sitting in a treasure trove of energy, and under President Trump’s leadership, we’ll unleash it,” Burgham said. “The US Gulf is a major power, and by granting and expanding access, we are not only strengthening our economy, but also strengthening our national security and bringing thousands of Americans back to work.”

In a comprehensive review, Boem found that the original reserves have added barrels equivalent to 43.9 billion barrels of oil. “After subtracting production equivalent to 3.09 billion barrels of oil from 2020 to 2021, the net increase reflects the continued opportunity and momentum of offshore development.”

“The US Gulf provides 14% of US oil,” said Dr. James Kendall, Regional Director of Baum Bay. “These updated estimates reaffirm the Gulf’s important role in ensuring reliable and affordable domestic energy supplies.”

Bohem oversees approximately 3.2 billion acres of outer continental shelf, with approximately 160 million acres of acres on the Gulf Coast.

“Energy domination is the pillar of America’s economic strength and global leadership,” the Home Office argues. “By expanding offshore capabilities, the US will ensure affordable energy for its consumers, create well-paid jobs and reduce dependence on foreign adversaries.

Shell Offshore Inc., a subsidiary of Shell Plc. announcement Production has begun in Dover. Dover is the second undersea tieback that links new wells to the existing infrastructure of the Appomattox production hub in the US Gulf. The estimated peak production in Dover is equivalent to 20,000 barrels of oil per day, he says.

Shell is the main deep sea operator in the American Gulf. Dover was discovered in 2018 under the first Trump administration.

It is located in Mississippi Canyon, approximately 170 miles southeast of New Orleans.

Shell estimates that Dover “includes recoverable resources equivalent to 44.5 million barrels of oil, adding stable and safe energy resources.”

Outer Continental Shelf’s oil and gas activities generate billions of dollars in revenue from lease sales, rent, royalties, and federal and state royalties, helping fund infrastructure, education, public services and wildlife conservation. They will also help strengthen US energy independence, national security and global stability by reducing dependence on foreign producers, the Trump administration argues.

Offshore production in the US Gulf is the third largest volume in the country, with approximately 1.8 million barrels of oil per day, according to data from the Energy Intelligence Agency in January. The largest volume is produced in the Permian Basin in western Texas, leading the United States in oil and natural gas production. It has been reported.
