Rallies are not the last resort of a campaign. But given Donald Trump’s obsession with crowd size, what he saw in Michigan on Friday night was downright embarrassing.
He spoke at the Macomb Community College sports complex in Warren, Michigan. Seating within the facility is up to 3,500. Trump won Macomb County, a Detroit suburb, 53-45 in 2020 after winning 53-42 in 2016. With more than 500,000 votes cast in 2020, the county is a huge source of votes and critical to both sides.
“FWIW – Tonight’s Trump rally in Warren, Michigan was held at the exact same location as another Friday night rally on September 27th. ” tweeted NBC Senior Congressional Correspondent Garrett Haak. “That crowd was probably twice the size tonight and had more energy.”
If this crowd were twice as large There will be around 2,000 participants at the September gathering. Well, that’s sad and pathetic.
Watch this video of him taking the stage. Low energy, boring, boring. And he vented his frustrations for nearly two hours, testing the patience of all but the most loyal.
It’s funny what perspective does. The view from the other side of the gymnasium is like this.
Those seats are empty. One side of the gym was literally sectioned off and empty. Presumably during that September visit, President Trump delivered his final message by shooting Liz Cheney, killing Obamacare, spitting on Puerto Rico, and circling the parking lot while sitting in a garbage truck dressed as a Lego man. The slot was probably filled before I decided to go around. .
And yes, by the time the incoherent ramblings were over, people were gone.
