Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker welcomed their first child together last year. And of course we’re so excited for the couple.
But some of the ostensibly sweet details that have come to light in the months since have bothered fans.
Now, a growing number of Court’s followers are sounding the alarm, accusing Travis of being “controlling.”
A while ago, we reported that Travis and Kourtney’s baby’s name would likely be “Rocky.”
And just days before welcoming his son, Travis confirmed the news. This is a name that has been talked about before.
The couple’s first child was named Rocky Thirteen.
Travis likes the name “Rocky”. Because it’s the name of his favorite musician. Specifically, the guitarist for Suicidal Tendencies.
13 is simply Travis’ favorite number. That’s natural. That’s a great number.
“I love Rocky 13,” he once told his teenage daughter Alabama. “That’s the name that’s been on my mind lately.”
So this boy’s name is Rocky Thirteen Barker.
If the name “Rocky” sounds like a name you might give a puppy, it sounds innocuous enough. I’ve heard worse things.
So what’s the problem? Well…it comes down to how all three parts of the name came from only one of the parents.
“In my opinion, Travis is in control,” one Reddit resident opined.
“He was the one who named his son,” the Redditor reasoned, “based on his own interests.” And not Courtney’s.
“I understand if Kravis fans are going to start attacking me over this, but this is a huge red flag,” the social media user continued.
“Just like Kourtney and Travis’ wedding was all about his vibe,” one Reddit user explained.
“And Kourtney changed her entire wardrobe to match his style,” the redditor concluded.
Indeed, we’ve seen Kourtney’s sense of style evolve into a “rocker” vibe. Even maternity photos.
“The fact that she allowed him to name this baby Rocky Thirteen confirms to me that he is in control,” one commenter said.
“Rocky, that’s one thing. It’s not my vibe, it’s not really Kourtney’s vibe, but you could see it,” said this second redditor. “Thirteen? Baby, this is not weird!!!!”
Another person commented: “Yeah, I don’t like that the new child’s name is completely Travis’s interest. Court was the only one to give her children normal names, and then Barker wanted Rocky 13. ” (Order point: Courtney has a son named) reign)
Another Reddit user worried: “He seems very controlling.” “And the only reason Courtney would accept it is because he loves her and is devoted to her.”
If you’ll excuse the joke, the first few months after the baby was born were a little… rough.
Sources have suggested that Kourtney’s older children don’t like Travis.
Then there was the incident where Courtney left Rocky behind during a trip to Australia.
There’s no reason to believe she did it on Travis’ orders, but fans jumped to that conclusion. Because too often dramatic explanations are preferred over accurate explanations.
