Today’s Strand theme is: Step on it!
If that doesn’t help you, here’s a clue: under your feet.
Word clues to unlock in-game hints
Your goal is to find hidden words that match the theme of the puzzle. If you’re stuck, find out what you can. Whenever you find three words of four or more letters, the strand reveals one of the theme words. These are the words I used to get some hints for them, but the words of four or more letters you found work:
- Here, here, mare, meat, companion, tamed, team, tines, tones, zing, creels, reels, floors.
Today’s Strand Puzzle Answers
These are answers that are linked to the theme. The goal of the puzzle is to find everything that includes the Spangram, a theme word that reaches from one side of the puzzle to the other. When you have all of them (I originally thought there were always eight, but I learned that the numbers can vary), every letter on the board is used. Here is the answer to nonspangram:
- Concrete, hardwood, laminate, linoleum, terrazzo.
Today’s Strandspangram

Today’s strand spangram is flooring. To find it, start with F, seven letters below the top column on the left, and then roll it up.
Simple Strand Tips
#1: For more clues, add “s” or other variants to see if you can tweak the words you already found. And if you find a word like will, see if other letters can help you lurk or create an invoice.
#2: Once you’ve got one theme word, look at the puzzle and see if you can find other related words.
#3: If you are given a letter of the theme word but you can’t understand it, then guess three more clue words and the puzzle will light each letter in order and reveal the word.
