The Dow scored another 320 points on Tuesday, with tariff sales continuing. As the days go by, economists are convinced that the US will enter a self-harmed recession.
Donald Trump was in the White House, hosting propaganda events for the US coal industry.
Like in 2017, Trump said:
Today we are taking historic actions to help American workers, miners, families and consumers end the war on beautiful, clean phones. And it was Obama, and others, not just Biden. But we do the exact opposite. And all the plants that have been closed will be if they are modern enough, or they will be torn apart, brand new plants will be destroyed, new plants will be built.
I’m planning on bringing the miners back to work. And I said I was going to do this and I was saying it loud and clear, so it was time to do it and we need it. And I see these people behind me. I don’t want to have an arm wrestling contest.
Trump’s executive order ends the Obama Theatre of Coal Mines on Federal Lands. The executive order is intended to promote and boost the coal industry.
It’s just there One problem.
That’s what the US coal industry is like Quite a dead:
Coal is the dirtyest fossil fuel Emissions have been killed There were 460,000 between 1999 and 2020. Plus, it’s not even cost-effective. Even natural gas is cheaper than coal. And these plants are old – the average age of plants online is 53.
Coal had been declining for a long time – peaked in 2007. As I wrote last month, coal hit a record low of 15% of the US total electricity generation in 2024, with wind and solar being calculated. 17% of total power generation. That’s right – wind and solar successfully provided more power in the US than coal last year.
The decline of coal began at the end of the Bush administration, but politics did not kill it. Coal was killed by natural gas and natural gas when facing competition with clean energy. The mines have not returned. Coal-fueled power plants are dying.
The economy is tanking as Trump seeks to use 19th century trade policies. Trump’s energy policy has also been in the mid-20th century, so it fails.
Donald Trump is completely outstripped not only in the majority of Americans, but also in the rest of the world.
As the modern US economy collapsed, Trump hosted a coal propaganda event of death.
Trump does not live in the same universe as the country he runs to the ground.
What do you think about Trump propaganda for coal? Let me explain in the comments below.
