Florence Pugh’s Jelena Bellova, Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Burns and David Harbor’s Red Guardian are working on things as the dysfunctional team of Marvel’s new flickthunderbolt*, currently in theaters.
Thunderbolts* is one of three 2025 Marvel Movies, released after Captain America: Brave New World in February and The Fantastic Four: First Steps in July. It follows a crude crew of anti-heroes who have to stand up to their dark past to save the day. The film stars Hannah John Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/American Agent, Antonia Draicoff/Tasmaster, and Julia Louis Dreyfus as the Mystical Bob as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine and Lewis Pullman.
CNET’s Aaron Pruner reviewed Thunderbolts*, describing “Marvel movies as a palate cleanser that reminds audiences that they are fun. The film’s 88% Rotten Tomato Score Status as the last film before Phase 6 of the MCU is the reason why Marvel titles are added to the tally. Here are some things you need to know about the post-credit scene if you’re catching it this weekend.
Does Thunderbolts* have a post-credit scene?
Yes, it’s in Marvel movies Mid-credit and post-credit scene. Looking at both adds about 12-13 minutes to your theatre time, along with the credits. Distribute popcorn accordingly.
Below is a spoiler-packed explanation of what happens with those clips. Stop reading now If you don’t need all the details.
The mid-credits scene from Thunderbolts is directly related to what happens at the end of the film. The film’s showdown is between Thunderbolts and Bob/Sentry, a powerful character in a dark alter ego. Thunderbolts manages to stop Bob from turning man into shadow by reaching him through a series of interconnected rooms depicting dark memories.
The good man recovers things normally and finds Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. Throughout the film, the CIA director has been trying to take power. To her surprise, Valentina introduces the Ragtag team as the new Avengers and always acts like her plan.
The mid-credits scene is just over 30 seconds, with the film’s title, Thunderbolts*, flashing on the screen, followed by another title, The New Avengers. The bonus clip is from the Red Guardian in the cereal aisle of the supermarket. He takes a walk to browse the woman and points out a bright orange box of wheat on the shelf. But these aren’t just Wheaties – they have a picture of the new Avengers on the box cover.
The Red Guardian tries to make connections by shopping for poor women for groceries and seizing whole wheat flakes to keep their faces awkwardly. She takes the cereal from the unpolished superhero and sets it up right away.
Time Jump and the Mysterious Ship
The post-credits scene is almost three minutes long, giving you a glimpse into the dynamics of the new Avengers 14 months later. The dialogue between Yelena, Bucky, Red Guardian, Ghost and John reveals that despite the government saying that they are the Avengers, Sam Wilson/Captain America is interested in putting together his team and even submitting copyright protections for the Avengers’ names.
Thunderbolts before they lose reliability are not just a problem for the time being. There are also space crisis that they don’t know much about. But before we say more about it, the Red Guardian comes in wearing a shade with the new Avengers, a rear cap and a racing suit. His solution to a potential conflicting superhero group? He places a “Z” above the “S” in the Avengers.
The news that an unidentified craft is on track brings Bob into conversation, and he says he can’t become a sentry without the other side. At the end of this scene, the new Avengers learn that “hyperdimensional” ships are in the atmosphere. The new Avengers are watching the ship. The ship has a familiar “4”. When Fantastic Four: First Step premieres on July 25th, fans will definitely see the logo again.
