Dwayne Johnson was once the king of blockbusters, able to turn seemingly any concept into a hit. With the power hierarchy in Hollywood changing, those days are behind us, and now his movies are simply okay.
black adamIt was considered a huge failure, but in hindsight it was a solid hit, and time will likely be just as kind to his latest work. red one. After failing to recoup its budget and performing disappointingly at the box office, the Christmas-themed action movie is now available on Amazon Prime, where it was originally intended. The extra marketing costs don’t bother me, but sadly it’s not really a bad movie either.
The cast understood the mission
I went to see the movie at the theater when it was released on the weekend. red one I watched this movie with a friend and intended to laugh, but thanks to the sheer power of Johnson and Chris Evans, I ended up enjoying it. That’s not to say this movie is a hidden gem, but it does feature J.K. Simmons’ swollen Santa, Lucy Liu as Nick Fury in the movie, Kiernan Shipka chewing the scenery, and the recognizable Kristofer Hivju. as game of thrones’ Thorsmund Giantsbane gives a scene-stealing performance as Krampus. The sum is not greater than the parts, but everyone involved understood this assignment.
red one Jack O’Malley, played by Chris Evans, starts out as a hacker, thief, tracker, and overall not-so-nice guy who literally steals candy from babies. Dwayne Johnson is Calum Drift, a name that rivals Max Power when it comes to “totally fake names that someone thought was cool,” and who also happens to be an ELF (Enforcement, Logistics, and Fortress) commander. There’s one facial expression in the entire movie that is effective. The two cross paths after Santa is kidnapped, Christmas is in danger of being canceled, and MORA (Mythology Monitoring and Restoration Agency) takes action.
From sarcastic laughter to cheering for Santa
plot of red one It’s incredibly predictable and simple, but also kind of fun. No one takes this movie seriously, and that gives it an absurdist energy that most $250 million blockbusters lack, so yeah, that’s what this movie is about. It’s a movie budget, and no, it looks like it came out of a SyFy original series that you can’t see on screen because of most of the special effects. The evil snowman looks better in the movie than in the trailer, but what was hidden was that Johnson shrinks and grows like Ant-Man in the fight scenes, and each time that effect occurs Looks brutal.
in spite of Its drawbacks, red one It’s fun because it’s a throwback to 80’s and 90’s Christmas movies that weren’t afraid of their targets. young audience. Compared to modern Christmas classics, such as the inexplicably popular polar expressat least trying to do something a little different can be a breath of fresh air. It’s also fun to see Evans continue his post-Captain America trash career.
…most of the special effects look like they came out of SyFy’s original series
red one ‘ is currently available to watch on Amazon Prime. It was originally available to watch on this site until last year’s writers’ strike delayed its release and Amazon decided to fill the gap in the film’s schedule. I predict this movie will become a cult classic Christmas movie once it’s available for home viewing. It will be a sarcastic favorite at first, but as time goes on, laughing at this movie will eventually turn into laughing at the film’s corny gags, and you’ll find yourself superficially trying to stay cool and level-headed. But inside, I can’t wait to see Santa Claus in all his swollen glory. I know because it happened to me.
