You may know its alter ego, Descheys Village, a small fishing village in Guadeloupe: St. Marie, the fictional island of the popular BBC series “Death in Paradise,” sends a series of British-based detectives to solve crimes in the heart of the Caribbean.
But the real Desshay is one of my favourite Caribbean towns. It is modest, charming, beach-filled and blessed with a robust culinary spirit.
The last one is very impressive. Wherever you eat in Desshay, you’ll find a world-class meal, whether you’re tasting fresh Merlin or some of the world’s most exotic games.
