These new Puritans have released new albums, Curved wingsthe first British art rock band since 2019 Inside the rose. It is scheduled to be released on May 23rd Domino. The announcement comes with two new songs, beautifully swirling “Bell” and “IndustrialLoveSong”another world duet with Caroline Polacek. Please listen below.
Produced by duo Jack Burnett Curved wings Along with Graham Sutton, George Burnett executives produced the record. “This album is more surreal than anything we’ve done so far, and somehow more direct,” George reflected in the press release. “The bent wings are ears, you have it on either side of your body, and they have a rippling shape. Maybe if you’re lucky they can help you fly.”
“The ‘Industrial Love Song’ is a duet between the two cranes in the building,” Jack Burnett explained. “Caroline sings part of one crane and the other crane. They cannot touch (their movement is controlled by the operator), but when the sun rises, they want their shadows to cross. I like George’s title came up with the hopes of Misdirection – that’s not true that A kind of industry. ”
“It’s difficult to attach periods to this song,” added George Burnett. “It’s progressive music made from instruments that have existed for hundreds of years.”
“When you leave the mechanical age, you realize how much we have in common with the machines and how human they are,” Jack continued. “It was not so ridiculous to write a love song from their perspective all of a sudden.”
Commenting on “Bell,” Jack said: You can hear it in the song, and the rest of the song grew from it. That one Bel Strike runs through much of the album. ”
