There are new local records in the list of spider species in a fragment of the Brazilian Amazon urban forest and three new records in Brazil
summary
The Araneae consists of over 52,000 described spider species, and despite its high diversity, there is still much to study group taxonomy and biogeography, especially in tropical regions. This work provides a list of spider species/morphology from the study campus Paraence Emilio Goeldi, Brazil, Para, Belem, Dr. Emilio Goeldi, has new records on various scales. Collections occurred sporadically between 2011 and 2018, using a variety of collection methods. A total of 492 individuals were sampled from 172 morphospheres and distributed to 103 genera and 25 families. 84 species (48.8%) could be determined, with 16 new records for Belem, seven of Para and three new records for Brazil. The relatively high species richness can be explained by several factors, including sampling at different times of the year, the use of various collection methods, and the fact that the study area is connected to a broad forest matrix to the northeast. Finally, new records, high species richness, and undetermined number of species highlight the challenge of obtaining acceptable animal knowledge for Amazon spiders.
