The Florida Panthers acquired their seventh pick with Nikostram, the forward forward in the 2027 NHL draft on Thursday in exchange for a fourth-round selection of the 2026 draft.
The team completed their second transaction within a few days. Florida added goaltender Vitek Vanecek from San Jose on Wednesday in exchange for forward Patrick Giles.
The Panthers are getting Sturm after placing star forward Matthew Tokachuk in a long-term injury sanctuary on Sunday due to a gro caliber injury.
The 29-year-old Sturm has 13 points (7 goals, six assists) in 47 games for the Sharks this season.
Stanley Cup champion in Colorado, Sturm has 91 points (46 goals, 45 assists) in 316 career regular season games with the Minnesota Wild (2018-22), Avalanche (2022) and Sharks (2023-25).
