Bahamas weather
The dry season starts from November to June, and the rainy season begins in July and ends in December. If you are going to the Bahamas during the rainy season, expect to see an increase in rainfall. At this point, the seawater tends to warm, making it the perfect time to snorkeling.
This Caribbean territory does not experience winter, but for months like January, most of the lower 63°F at night tends to be cooler. January’s highs are typically around 79°F during the day.

Junkanoo

This Mardi-Gras style festival is usually held on Christmas night early (next day) on Boxing Day.
Junkanoo is a big national pride event where local groups compete to boast their rights. If you win both days it’s a big deal for the group (in terms of pride and bragging rights).
Farmers Cay Festival
The annual festival is held every February at Exma for Yachtmen and is a homecoming for the people of Farmers Kay.
Bacardiville Fish Tournament
The Bacardi Bill Fish Tournament is a week-long tournament in March for avid deep-sea fishermen!
Bahama Family Island Regatta
The event, held in Georgetown in April, is an exa that features boat racing and many onshore activities.
Bahamas Bill Fish Championship
Divided into four different venues and timelines, this fishing tournament series takes place between April and June.
Eleuthera Pineapple Festival
Pineapples, parades, arts and crafts… what more do you need? The event takes place in the first week of June.
Independence week
Parades, fireworks and plenty of entertainment to celebrate the Bahamas’ independence. This will take place on July 10th and will host a variety of events across the islands.
Great Bahama Seafood and Heritage Festival
The festival, held in October, features authentic Bahamian seafood on display.
One annual Bahamian Music & Heritage Festival
Three days of celebration on Nassau and Paradise Island in the final week of November. Lots of live performances!
These are just a few of the events – there are plenty of other regattas and festivals that are happening on the island throughout the year. If you are visiting the Bahamas, you are supposed to find something to do!
