Texas A&M‘s Push towards top-ranked recruitment hauling in 2026 was strengthened on Saturday as the Aggies secured a commitment from one of the nation’s best running backs from within the state.
The 4-star RB Jonathan Hatton Jr. has committed to Aggies in Oklahoma. Texas A&M became strong in the sixth place RB of this year’s rivals and has hosted bull dosing several times since.
After returning to the beginning of this spring, Hatton’s heart was made up. Texas A&M checked the biggest box on his list.

The four-star RB visited a series of college stations while committing to Oklahoma last fall and returned to Junior Day campus in January.
Hatton quickly lifted the Aggies board with the RB along the way.
“They started picking up things with me last March last year in offseason, and we were talking now for about a year,” he began. “Our connections are getting stronger and stronger. They’re just like coaches. They’re great to talk, talk to the ball, be around… They’re amazing people.”

“The whole coaching staff is amazing. Coach Truch, Coach Elko, Coach Klein – those are great guys, great coaches,” Hutton said. “I’m perfect for it there. It’s a great program. When you get into the game during the season and see Coach Klein’s offense, it’s something different.”
“I fit that attack very well,” he added.
The Aggies have been heading in the right direction on their four-star back since the end of his junior season’s tail. They once again avoided a slow run from Oklahoma ahead of Saturday’s commitment.
“When I resumed recruitment, I realized I was missing out on a lot,” Hutton said. “One of the reasons I refused was to make sure I was in my best position.
“Texas A&M is definitely a rising program,” he continued. “They don’t have any other directions, but they had a great season with Coach Elko, and they only got up from here with that program and those coaches.”
