Around 9pm. Something like that. Trump entered the arena like Rocky Balboa. If Rocky was fighting for Russia, he would have entered later. It’s true. But Trump rearranged his schedule to show up earlier to hear both Nikki Haley and Rhonda DeSantis speak. Yes, the former president rearranged his whole schedule to sip Diet Coke out of a goblet made from Chris Christie’s skull and watch as his defeated rivals were forced to sing his praises.
Trump is so weak and shallow that we rescheduled to hear Haley and DeSantis praise him. Trump still had those ridiculous cartoon bandages on his ears, and the second day’s speaker claimed God chose to save Trump and not all the innocent people killed by gun violence every year.
Donald Trump’s convention was a combination of pity party, deification and delusional pep rally.
Stephen Colbert did it all perfectly.
