Tip Points
Most are disappointed, poor, alienated and discriminated against by the state. They are not growing comfortably in slots in the machinery of capitalism, so you can clearly see what it is.
So how do you inspire people who don’t viscerally feel mistakes within the system to resist that harm? The trials and verdicts of the 5 Truth have spurred resistance and anger towards many circles.
I was energised by a tangible change in consciousness, the fact that many individuals are stepping up to challenge unfairly injustice for the first time.
We don’t have to agree to everything. It is not necessary to stand shoulder to shoulder at times of crisis on truly important issues, but in order to unleash this united possibility, we must listen to each other and recognize a common foundation.
Isolated the UK, just stopped the oil, non-violent direct action was a call to awakening, achieving policy changes. We were driven by the urgency to reduce emissions as the tick point window was closed.
risk
We tied ourselves to a short timeline and ran hard. I must now deepen and enrich our community of resistance, recognize that we are running marathons rather than sprints, and realize that travel is just as essential as any destination. I think so.
It is not clear when a major shift to change will occur. Yes, we need to maintain our vision for a sustainable and fair world in our minds.
Yes, we need to keep alarming about existential threats, but there is a possibility that many of us will be connected to working for the essential climate and social justice we need.
My and my fellow political prisoners are regularly inspired by the message of solidarity of activist communities around the world. Stop the oil from urgent brave students against E-Kop Uganda, for example, who oppose the great personal risks of the sleazy East African crude oil pipeline and who oppose acting in youth demand and mutual support.
Anti-capitalist
This message from the Indigenous Zapatista community in Mexico connects us with non-hierarchical decision-making, decentralized organizations and a deep community democracy where we can learn a lot.
“Every year, Zapatista’s struggle recognizes people who follow in resistance and rebellion, encouraging them to follow in your footsteps from the same different trench.”
An expanded, rich, strengthened community is the foundation of success in the systems that are killing us. But we must work to model the society we want to see and to build a supportive, anti-capitalist framework for it.
Communities related to the broader social, cultural and racial demographics. We accept everyone as unique individuals, assess their opinions and skills, and support their needs and vulnerabilities.
together
Communities with tools and non-violence can help develop personal resilience, constructive outreach and effective non-violent direct actions.
My hope is to dispel despair and nurture an environment in which more and more people around the world can empower the resistance of constructive, non-violent citizens and envelop each other’s support.
The next wave of movement will be a harsh, intense journey due to the dark future, but this is a future that we can actively shape.
How we live in a world that destroys the collapsed ecosystems and societies is a choice we can never take. Together, we become a powerful force of change and never stop standing up for the right thing.
