Stacey Abrams’ Nonprofit Trouble
The commission revealed that Stacey Abrams’ nonprofit organization was hit with the largest fine ever paid by the organization.
According to a signed consent order, the groups contributed $4.2 million during the 2018 election cycle, supported Abrams’ gubernatorial campaign, and supported candidates for various state offices during the primary and general elections. It failed to report additional spending of $3.2 million for advertising.
So they spent $7.4 million and were only fined $300,000.

Abrams has been portrayed as a darling of the Democratic Party, even though she lost twice in her bid for governor in the Peach State.
Her refusal to concede defeat despite receiving nearly 55,000 fewer votes in 2018 was highly publicized and public. In 2019, Abrams told supporters at a luncheon in Houston that she was not “delusional” shortly after declaring that “we won” the Georgia gubernatorial race.
