South Park Creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have always tended to be based on characters from people they knew in real life, and Leopold’s “butter” stoches are no exception. If you dig into enough interviews, you will see that McKee, the school’s guidance counselor, is based on Stan Lucky, Parker’s high school counselor known for his signature catchphrase, “M’Kay.”
Even the death of Kenny McCormick in all early episodes was based on a childhood friend of the same name, who was the poorest child in school. With his voice, I skipped classes where my classmates often joked.
Butter, on the other hand, was actually inspired South Park Very unique animation director – currently a producer – Parker and Stone, after realising that he would make a great character for the show due to his innocence and reputation of being such a “goodie goodie” Eric Stouff.
From Eric to Butter

Butter’s character design was displayed on screen from the first episode. South Park“Cartman Gets Anal Probes”, he was not officially given a name until the season 3 episode “Two guys naked in the hot tub” three years later, just three weeks later, until “Two guys in the hot tub” South Park: bigger, longer and uncut I saw that theatrical premiere. In fact, the characters were called “Puff Puff” and “Swanson” before they were officially named, and these names were given more prominent roles in season 3 episodes, and were compatible with scripts and storyboards until they were called Butter.
So how did the butter turn out? South Park Characters we know and love today?
Eric Stouff, South Park The animation director of the time was known to be a healthy nerd of the best order, so Parker and stones ripped him apart, often calling him their little companion. Over time they began to call him a small butter, “Who is our little butter?” and “Who is our good butter?” along the path to get under his skin. This playful rib, contrary to Parker and Stone’s wishes, is encouraged that Strou attend the premiere early with his work with members of the show crew. Star Wars: Phantom Menace The creators worked tirelessly on feature films and season 3, but this was in the middle of an active run.
Official introduction

Troubled by the key points of the show’s run and the fact that they leapt over the ship between film productions, they decide to continue bringing his character to his character. Just 3 weeks later Large, long, not cut The premiered butter appeared in his first “official” South Park With the iterations we know well. Butter was introduced, inspired by Stouff’s unwillingness and his overall healthy look. South Park He speaks as a permanent character and as Matt Stone moves forward.
Known for his ever-present sense of innocence and naiveness, Butter wants to utter a bewitched vows like “Ah, Hamburger” and “Gee With,” and expresses frustration without a fan, like a child character from a 50’s sitcom.
Up until the season 5 finale, “A very unique episode of Butters,” he saw the character’s family life better, explaining his protected temperament thanks to his overwhelming parents when his mother, Linda, attempted to crash into the lake and crash the car after his father, Stephen, found a suspicious massage parlor to search for a wedding anniversary consultation. To this day, “A very unique episode of Butters” South Park The darkest entry is the obvious continuation of the joke that, despite the fact that Butter is getting well after all of the ordeal, Eric Stouff is simply an adorable goofball who is often in extraordinary situations beyond his control.
The rest is history

As South Park The creators later learned, and butter turns out to be the perfect foil for textbook sociopath Eric Cartman. Parker frequently went to the record, stating that the episodes in which they take part in the adventures are his favorite episode due to the conflict of personality between the two characters. From “The Death of Eric Cartman” and “The Super Fun Time” to the legendary “Casa Bonita”, Cartman and Butter often butt their heads.
As South Park Butter, approaching its 27th season, is the mainstay of the series, and it’s hard to imagine a show without his sunny temperament and disgustingly sweet personality, often serving as a voice of reason when things are off the rails in his small mountain town. When you think about it, only three years of jokes at the expense of Eric Stouff was joking before he finally became one of the series’ most beloved characters.
