It was one of the days I knew I was going crazy, so I loaded my slow cooker into my slow cooker and took off, having all the goodness I could. Preparing everything in the morning (or the night before) and having the abandon do the work was an easy way to make delicious food for my family. It was precious to return to the wonderful aroma of home cooking.

Of course, it depends on the size of the slow cooker, but a 6-quart oval cooker is ideal. If there is a crack of less than one round, you may want to do half the chicken and cut it into serving-sized pieces. Another option for a smaller slow cooker is the Cornish chicken. Either way, it is a convenient alternative to roasting chicken without heating the oven.

How to slowly cook the whole chicken

Season the poultry, assemble everything in a slow cooker and simmer.
