MANILA, Philippines — JD Kagulangan’s best yet in the Korean Basketball League (KBL) as SJ Belanger and Daegu KOGAS Pegasus escaped with a thrilling 76-74 victory over Suwon KT Sonic Boom on Thursday at the Daegu Gymnasium. The match ended in vain.
Andrew Nicholson beat the buzzer with a game-winning fadeaway jump shot, and Daegu defeated Suwon in a close game.

Nicholson finished with 34 points, and Pegasus moved into third place with the Changwon LG Sakers with 17 wins and 13 losses.
Belanger, who played against Cagurangan in two epic UAAP Finals in Seasons 84 and 85, had 15 points, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds in his first matchup with his college rival in three years.

Cagurangan, who only joined the team last week, had 15 points along with six assists, four rebounds and three steals, but Sonic Boom’s record fell to 15-14.
Meanwhile, Juan Gomez de Riaño was unable to complete the Seoul SK Knights’ nine-game winning streak with a 74-65 victory over Ethan Albano and Wonju DB.

Despite Gomez de Liaño’s absence, the Knights remained the hottest team in the league with a league-leading 24-6 record.
Albano, the current KBL MVP, recorded 14 points, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds, but Wonju fell to 6th place with a record of 14 wins and 16 losses.
