The Geminid meteor shower is one of the most prolific meteor showers of the year, known for its bright, colorful meteors and amazing hourly rates. This year, even though it was almost a full moon, they lived up to their reputation.

Daichi Fujii Curators at Japan’s Hiratsuka City Museum captured an incredible Geminid meteor streaking across the sky above Mt. Fuji.

Fujii also recently captured impressive footage of a possible Gemini meteor shower colliding with the moon.
