For over a decade, La Tenorio has been Barangay Ginebra’s stable hand, his steely nerves, crafty playmaking and leadership, and has supported almost half of the popular franchise’s 15 PBA crown.
Tenorio has played a different role ever since. Today he is primarily seen from the sidelines, passing on the directions of Coach Tim Cohn to his younger teammates. His young teammates include his previous studdaddy, who subsequently bloomed into one of the league’s best security guards.
The crowd Darlings was now at the gateway to another PBA Championship, and in a candid chat with The Inquirer, Tenorio recalls that he once told Thompson that it was his turn to return his favor.

“I jokingly said that I was giving him a championship.
Thompson has consistently produced Barangay Guinebra in a championship duel with Old Tormentor TNT, but is expected to be a neurological game six in the Commissioner Cup Final at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, allowing Tenorio to be repaid this Wednesday.
Game time was 7:30pm, and Thompson scored a razor sharp focus on his team’s first two tries, which won the midseason crown.
“We need to focus on one game. There’s no past or future,” he said. “Let’s see what we can do in the next game. But don’t worry, we’ll do our best.”
Although he does not put any pressure on his successor’s shoulders, the Veterans Court general ensured that Thompson would meet at the moment.
“He’ll be there,” Tenorio said of the facts. “Scotty is Scotty. He [Most Valuable Player]. It doesn’t matter if he struggles aggressively. He does a lot for his team – from hustling to defense. ”
Thompson scored 16 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block in the previous contest.
