MANILA (Philippines) Rondae Hollis-Jefferson credited Rain or Shine for their efforts in making it difficult for him through five games as TNT booked a return to the PBA Governors’ Cup Finals.
TNT defeated Elasto Painter 113-95 in Game 5 at Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo, finishing the series 4-1.

But for Hollis-Jefferson, the victory doesn’t reflect the real story.

Winning 4-1 was no easy task for him.

“I feel good. I want to give ‘Rain or Shine’ credit. They made me work as hard as I could, but it was a tough battle,” said RHJ.
“We won 4-1, but I have to give credit to the guys that rotated me in. “Aside from tonight, I struggled from the field. We need to praise them.”
He took another step forward in Game 5 with an all-around performance of 36 points, 11 rebounds, nine assists, and six steals.
Friday’s game was just a follow-up game for Hollis-Jefferson, who had 23 points, 19 rebounds, five assists, five steals and five blocks in Game 4.

The 2023 Governors Kuip Best Import provided the final return for the remaining team members other than the players and coaching staff.
“This victory wasn’t just about me or Chot (Resis). The people who helped us, the support staff, the players who aren’t playing who may not have had very good results, this is about them. It was a question of,” he said. Said.
Tropang Giga is one win away from defeating San Miguel and setting up a showdown with RHJ and company as they wait for their dance partner in the finals against Ginebra.
But who will be on the other side of the court in the final? Expect Hollis-Jefferson to do just as well.
“This (finals) is not the end for us. We want to be champions. At the end of the day, we know what we have to do. Take this break and lock in. Let’s see who wins the other series. That’s what matters at the end of the day.”
