Miraculously, accusations of voter fraud stopped when Donald Trump was declared the winner of the 2024 presidential election.
Of course, before the results came in, Trump pre-emptively claimed “cheating” and lay the foundation If he had lost to Vice President Kamala Harris, his electoral challenge would have been difficult.
In two posts on his platform, Truth Social, Trump alleged fraud in both Philadelphia and Detroit, two heavily Democratic cities in key battleground states.
“There’s a lot of talk about massive fraud in Philadelphia. Law enforcement is coming!!!” Trump I wrote It was reported on Truth Social just before 5 p.m. ET on Election Day, before the state’s polls closed.
He continued with another post, write“Philadelphia and Detroit! Strict law enforcement is there!!!”
Of course, there was no wrongdoing involved.
Philadelphia City Commissioner Seth Bluestein (R) said Trump is lying. Bluestein: “There is absolutely no truth to this allegation.” I wrote “This is another example of disinformation. Voting in Philadelphia is safe and secure.”
So did Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner. I wrote In a post to If there are facts to back up the claims, we want to know them now. We’re not holding our breath.”
But now that he has won, Trump’s sudden silence about voter fraud is further proof that he was right. Allegations of voter fraud 2020 was a deliberate lie. His claims of fraud were just a ploy that the sore loser needed to use to explain away and try to reverse his losses.
However, his lies had negative consequences.
In addition to help incite a rebellion Not only did hundreds of law enforcement officers get injured, but it also left Republican voters distrustful of an outcome they didn’t like.
civics public opinion poll It was found in October that an overwhelming majority of people who watch Fox News, the right-wing propaganda network that amplifies President Trump’s lies, said they were concerned about fraud in the 2024 election.
The poll found that 95% of Fox News viewers said they were “somewhat” or “very” concerned about fraud.
But now, like Trump, Fox News viewers appear to have become miraculously oblivious to any wrongdoing after Trump was declared the winner.
Needless to say, voter fraud should not only “exist” if a candidate loses.
But we’re not holding our breath, as this election has resolved the cognitive dissonance between Trump and his supporters.
