Doge wasn’t about finding waste, fraud or abuse in the federal government. Doge was an excuse to illegally shut down or suffocate programs that the Trump administration wanted to kill but that require official changes to Congressional approval.

Doge was also about Elon Musk shutting down investigations on his business and sending more government contracts to himself.

The House Oversight Committee was scheduled to hold a hearing on the government’s Accountability Bureau’s report on real numbers related to Doge’s errors, duplications and claims of savings, but James Comer (R-KY), chairman of the Oversight Committee, moved the discussions behind closed doors, away from television cameras and reporters.

Oversight Committee Congressman Stephen Lynch (D-MA) blows up Republicans for refusing to talk about doges in public.

Despite the public crusades against “efficiency,” Republicans fear to confront the reality that they illegally fired thousands of federal workers, including FAA employees, medical researchers and food inspectors.

Republicans know they can’t defend destruction and devastation, so Musk and Doge are leaving on the voyage, so they kick out the public, block out C-Span cameras, hide behind “closed door briefings” rather than holding actual hearings where they can be held responsible.

Republicans are about to hide from the doge. There’s no other way to put it. They don’t want to argue about the fact that there is already a government accountability office that focuses on Republicans claim Doge is doing.

If Doge is so big, why doesn’t the oversight committee hold a hearing?

The answer is that the votes show that both musk and clumsy are not popular. House Republicans are trying to distance themselves from the destruction caused by Musk, with Trump’s approval.

Instead of telling the American people what they’ve done to them, Republicans in the coronavirus, they hide.

Republicans are hiding from City Hall. House Republicans are hiding from their constituents and are now hidden from hearings.

This is not a sign of success. This is a sign that Republicans are heading for blood next November.
