Creighton guard Pop Isaacs underwent surgery to address a lingering hip issue and is expected to miss the rest of the season, Field of 68 reported Saturday.
Isaacs, a transfer from Texas Tech, underwent hip surgery in the offseason. Field of 68 reported that Isaacs continued to experience pain and a surgeon recommended immediate surgery.
The junior appeared in eight games (all starts) for the Blue Jays (6-3), averaging 16.3 points in 31.6 minutes per game. He is averaging 4.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists.
In Wednesday’s 76-63 win over No. 1 Kansas, Isaacs scored a game-high 27 points on 10-of-15 shooting, including six 3-pointers.
Last season at Texas Tech, Isaacs started all 34 games for the Red Raiders and averaged 15.8 points in 32.8 minutes per game.
