Regan Smith looks back on Paris’ Olympic Campaign

For Regan Smith, 2024 has been an incredible year. After multiple impressive performances on the national circuit, including a world record in the 100m backstroke, she headed to the Parisio Philosophy. In the game, she won silver medals in the 100m and 200m backstrokes and 200m butterflies. She also walked away with gold medals at the 4x100m medley and 4x100m mixed medley event.
Looking back on her pariolympic campaign, Smith told Forbes:
“I think it came from the Tokyo Olympics, when there were no spectators on the deck. I couldn’t share your successful celebratory moments with my family or anything. I think Paris was a truly special experience.”
“I was really motivated to do something really special because I knew after each event there would be an opportunity to have fun with my family, friends, teammates and the world. The stadium is also very special and very fun, but yeah, yeah, it’s definitely not easy, but competition in sports is never easy.”
After her ParisiolmÃn Campaign, Regan Smith competed at the 2024 Short Course World Championships. Here she won gold in a 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 200m backstroke, and 4x100m medley. She also won silver in a 200m butterfly and a 4x100m mixed medley and a bronze medal in a 4x50m mixed medley.
